Your Desk is yours. The database itself enforces that only you can read your Desk.
What stays private to you: your saves, collections, notes, clippings, follows, searches, Recently read and your reading progress. Editors never see them.
What we see, only as totals: how many people liked, saved or read a piece. Passages appear as Top highlights only once at least three members have clipped them, and never with names.
What you control:
- Switch off Recently read and recent searches in settings. Continue reading is off until you switch it on.
- A collection is public only if you publish it.
- Show less like this is used only to order your own Desk.
Ask APRYL conversations are kept for 90 days so our team can review answers and improve them, and you can delete yours at any time.
Export or erase your data. Open settings (⚙), then Your data. Download my data gives you everything on your Desk. Erase my desk clears it at once: saves, collections, notes, clippings, follows, searches, reading history and your Ask APRYL conversations. We keep a copy for 30 days only so we can restore your Desk if you ask; after that it is permanently deleted. Deleting your account erases your Desk the same way.
Support requests. When you send a support request, your request and, from Ask APRYL, the conversation become a support case, kept separately in our support system.
