My Desk is your private workspace inside Compass. Every member has one, free members included; what it opens follows your plan. Open it from My Desk in the top bar.
| What | How it works |

| Save and favorite | The bookmark on any card or article saves it. Star a save to keep it in Favorites. |
| Collections | Group saves into collections of your own. You can publish a collection as a public page, or keep it private (the default). |
| Notes | Write a private note on any piece from its menu (⋯). Notes save as you type and are never translated or shared. |
| Clippings | Select text in an article and choose Clip, or Clip with note. Clippings are grouped by piece in your Desk. |
| Follows | Follow topics, products and writers. Followed items lead your desk, newest first. |
| Recently read | A private list of what you opened, on by default. You can switch it off in settings. |
| Continue reading | Opt-in. When switched on, pieces you started show your progress so you can resume where you stopped. |
| Updated since you saved | If a saved piece is revised, your Desk tells you. |
| Show less like this | From a piece's menu, tell your Desk to show less of that product, topic or writer. Only your Desk uses it. |
Tip: press ⌘K (or Ctrl+K) anywhere for quick actions such as save, PDF, notes, or jumping to any product, topic or collection.
